Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) A borough-wide PSPO is active across all of Sandwell, including Tipton and Great Bridge. It was renewed on 1 March 2024 for three years. Police Powers: Officers can require individuals to stop drinking or surrender alcohol if it is causing a nuisance.Penalties: Failure to comply can result in a £100 Fixed Penalty Notice or a fine of up to £1,000 upon prosecution.Focus: The order is intended to "nip anti-social behaviour in the bud" and is not a total ban on responsible public drinking (e.g., at a picnic) unless it becomes disruptive.
